The owners were absolutely delightful and really tried to make our stay as pleasurable as possible. The view was gorgeous as well.
I loved everything about the hotel. Although I didn't realize there'd be a little upward hike to get to the hotel from downtown. I was 7 months pregnant and didn't expect that much exercise on my vacation :-). But that did not effect our stay whatsoever.

it was cosy and central
no we liked it all, would just like to recommend you add a few things like more towel rails and robe hooks in the bathroom (room 4) and maybe a luggage rack for toiletry bags in the space above and to the left of toilet. The bathroom is large but not functional. The fridge in this room is very noisy had to turn it off every night and back on in the morning.

The hosts Gill and Don are really nice people who obviously love their work! The view!
The hot water system in Room 9 was not very stable. May not be an issue with the other rooms.

Nothing boutique or luxury about this property. Room marketed as lake view (room 6) had only the view of a rusting chimney and roof of the house next door with Queenstown and mountains in background. To see a minute portion of this huge lake one had to stand out on the balcony. Browns is over-rated and overpriced for what it offers. It is like a 3 star guest house rather than the 4 star+ hotel it claims to be.

The cooked breakfast was delicious.Very friendly hosts. I loved the decor, the view from our 2nd story balconey, the large room, free wifi, and book/DVD library for guests. It was nice and quiet too, except for the fridge in our room.
Couldn't figure out how to turn off/unplug the fridge.
